Culture

Having been governed by Great Britain, Barbados has earned the nickname 'Little England'. English is the official language of this Caribbean island, although the Barbadian dialect has strong West African influences. Bars, restaurants, clubs and festivals showcase the rich and welcoming character of Barbados.

Cuisine

International cuisine is celebrated in Barbados, often focussing on meat and fresh seafood dishes, typically grilled, fried, curried or pickled. Foods from an interesting mixture of Polynesian, French, Greek, Chinese, Italian, Japanese and New World traditions are all served.

Beaches

On the north coast of Barbados, astound in up to one-hundred feet of sandstone cliffs and coral rising from the sea. This organically sculpted area contains hidden sheltered coves to explore. The North and East coast beaches are vast and exposed, open to the Atlantic Ocean and making for an incredible surfing and water sports location. The tranquil west coast features gentle waters and white sand beaches, an ideal location to relax and admire the gorgeous landscapes of Barbados and its seascapes.

Nightlife

Evenings in Barbados behold amazing nightlife, whether you’re searching for clubs and bars serving classic Bajan rum or sophisticated dining options showcasing the amazing flavours of the island. Holetown is just one of many that offers classic Bajan character with drinks, dining shops and more.
